Installation of the access concept for inspection below the HelWin alpha platform

At the offshore converter station HelWin alpha, b.offshore GmbH has created a new access concept that enables work to be carried out below the platform. The platform operated by TenneT TSO GmbH was put into operation in February 2015. With their extensive practical experience, the b.offshore specialists have created a way to carry out maintenance work below the platform.

Before the actual implementation on the converter platform, b.offshore GmbH first planned a maintenance and access concept for the underside of the platform. A total of 41 anchor points were welded under the platform and then recoated. The grid of anchor points makes it possible to install scaffolding under the platform for inspection work. Industrial climbers can also use this grid of anchor points to inspect the underside of the platform.
