Dismantling the rescue davit crane on the BorWin gamma

A rescue davit crane was dismantled by b.offshore GmbH at the offshore converter station BorWin gamma. On the platform operated by TenneT TSO GmbH, the crane was originally intended to lower lifeboats into the water in the event of an emergency evacuation. However, a modified rescue concept made it superfluous.

When the BorWin gamma was commissioned in August 2019, the rescue davit crane on the offshore platform was an essential component in the event of an evacuation. Over the years, however, the rescue concept was revised and a different concept was defined as the primary rescue measure instead of the lifeboat with the davit crane. b.offshore GmbH was therefore commissioned to dismantle the system. As part of the operation, all electrical, hydraulic and mechanical parts of the system were dismantled, decommissioned and transported away.
